The Department of Health is introducing Primary Care model across Abu Dhabi to enhance healthcare. It is a model of care that serves as the first point of contact between a patient and the healthcare system. Primary care focuses on maintaining overall health, preventing illness and managing common medical conditions. According to research, access to primary health services is linked to better health outcomes, including improvements in self-rated health and a reduction in all-cause mortality. Surveys in places where the Primary Care Model has been introduced around the world show that people who have a PCP are more likely to be satisfied with their healthcare than those who do not. This is because PCPs can provide sustainability in their duty of care and can build strong relationships with their patients.
